Hi friends. My partner and I finished building this vivarium two weeks ago. We’re letting it grow in and monitor everything before we put our gargoyle gecko in there. We noticed some green mold(?) on the ghostwood in some places where it touches the substrate and the walls. Will the springtails take care of it or do we need to be worried about it? Could we be over spraying the enclosure?

For more info, we used gorilla glue and a mix of ecoearth and sphagnum moss for the walls. The substrate is a mix of ecoearth, moss, sand, and soil. We have both springtails and dwarf white isopods in there.

Mold is normal in a new bioactive setup, this is one of the reasons why you wait/age it before putting in a reptile. Springtails and isopods should take care of it soon. I’d recommend more leaf litter to really get the cleanup crew population booming. My panda cubaris love pecan leaves.
