ID in order: katydid nymph, theridion varians, texas leafcutter bee, red-banded leafhopper, milkweed bug, brown-belted bumblebee, banded longhorn beetle, narcissus bulb fly

many are pollinators, some are predators, others prey. all beneficial native bugs (to my knowledge at least!)

    This is why I love milkweed. It’s a whole ecosystem in itself. A bug megalopolis.

    I found 3 monarch caterpillars on my milkweed last and squealed. Now I’m playing defense for them against the earwigs that like to hang out there.
