The first attempt failed miserably so this time i smothered the ground first for several months, and i’m using liquid corn gluten every month for weed suppression, and I’ve abandoned my efforts to avoid pesticides because clover persists. But the more the thyme spreads, the less pesticide i can use/need to use. I’ve also added liquid fertilizer to pep them up and planted a couple months sooner (march) this time. Total amateur but all these changes seem to be making a difference.
