Hey guys! I've been a long time lurker (and learner) on this sub and i just got my very first haworthia, it arrived bareroot and i temporarily potted it up in orchid mix (just to hold the plant in place) because the akadama i ordered is arriving 2 days late.

Currently it's under a sansi grow light (7-8 inches away and is timed 12 hours per day), I'd appreciate any tips you guys have to offer and maybe an i.d too? Seller said this was a retusa but it looks a little different from the retusas I've seen online, thanks!

Looks like retusa to me. If it had stringy feeder roots. I’d cut those off and only leave the thicker roots. When these get shipped and replanted those feeder roots are usually already dead and makes rerooting a hassle, best to start fresh. For light, watch for signs of stress. I wouldn’t be blasting it right away as it needs to acclimate to your conditions since you may be growing differently than the seller.
