AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Texas Panhandle War Memorial along with the Randall County Master Gardeners is hosting Breakfast in the Gardens.
The event is a part of the lecture/seminar series “Reflections on the Military” commemorating those lost in service to our country.
The Breakfast in the Gardens event will have breakfast food trucks, coffee, and a special garden party, guided tours, speakers, and more.
“Proud to be a part of the War Memorial’s Breakfast in the Gardens. The main thing we’re going to do is showcase our plants that are in the garden and describe to everybody why we put these plants in the Red, White, and Blue Garden,” said Roger Gloe, Randall County Master Gardener.
The War Memorial says this garden is an important place to reflect on the men and women who gave their lives for our freedoms.
“The garden itself, I think, really is what honors our veterans out here. You know, all of the monoliths that you see around here have the names of every veteran from the Texas Panhandle who died in combat. And without the garden, it would be empty,” said Tim Reid, executive director at Texas Panhandle War Memorial.
The goal is to honor, learn, and enjoy the summer in the garden which helps remember and give back to those who served.
The event will take place at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial at 4111 S. Georgia on July 5, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public with a special presentation by Barbara Harrington.
All donations received will go back into maintaining the memorial garden.
