This is just what I've been meaning to do asap. Propagate local wild wineberries and local wild black raspberries! I have one plant of each that grew up by surprise but I'd sure like a whole patch of each one off in different areas. Good luck to you Kaye β£
I found this video very helpful regarding pruning and digging up rooted tips too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61DFE2OilP0 I assume it's the same for wineberries as for wild black raspberries.
Hope the propagation works this time for you as I would not have thought old growth vs new growth would make a difference but will see. Hope you are having a wonderful 4th holiday…
New growth(primocane with 5 nodes or new suckers) with leaves at top of stem. Bury 2 or 3 nodes by pushing directly into the pre-moistened soil. Make no holes before putting in chutes, keeps from having air pockets. 2 primocanes per 1 gallon pot. Where the nodes are buried you will get your new roots. I have done some wild black raspberries recently. It's taken off nicely. Happy July 4th and gardening.
Happy Fourth Of July πΊπΈπ§¨ Kaye your a light warrior holding the light for Father in Tennessee !!! Keep the positive energy flowing, love is the key, always π π»πΉ
