Work in Progress, but my partner and I have been maintaining our side yard for 3 years now.
There have been amazing surprises (like Scarlett bee balm, daisies, cup flower, goldenrod, and phlox) and unpleasant ones (like creeping bellflower, Virginia creeper, mugwort, Bradford pear, and buckthorn).
This year I introduced coneflower, black eyed Susan, and speedwell.
I try not to focus on the invasive guys, I try not to worry that the goldenrod will overshadow everything. It’s an occasional battle with my perfectionism, but I focus on the good things like the desirable flowers, baby bunnies leaping over the spring growth, and bumbles floating around.

Beautiful!
Woah so cool! Love it!
Yes! I try to ignore my “messy to some” nolawn, Half-lawn but I love seeing my puppy and insects and local fauna frolic! i love your growth!
It’s hard to tell from the pics: do you have tree of heaven there or one of its lookalikes.
Because if it’s ToH, you’re entering your window of opportunity to deal with it effectively.
On a brighter note, you got some lovely natives that popped up!
