Planting My 2025 Garden || Garden Plans For This Year & How To Sow Carrots (the easy way)

[Music] [Music] hi guys welcome back for another video today’s video is going to be kind of all over the place
i know you want to talk too today’s video is going to be kind of all over the place we’re planning on planting our garden today or at least some of the garden so I want to take you along for that we have a lot of plans for our garden this year so hopefully I can show you some of what I have planned and maybe some other things in here as well so yeah without further ado let’s get into today’s video so here I’ve got all my supplies i’ve got some seeds i’ve got parsley seeds I believe and then I have my corn and some carrots also I have my string for making nice straight rows i am terrible at eyeballing the rose and they turn out all wacky and I’ve got some merry golds also I picked up some more flowers and then I do have my cool breeze cucumbers i find that these ones are my favorite so this is what we usually like to plant and that’s all I have for the seeds i do have some plants in the garage i’m going to take you out there as well and I always need my gloves so I got those also I bought myself this rose bush this is what it looks like i thought that would look really pretty we want to make a nice seating area on the corner of our garden with our garden bench and then I want to make flowers all around it and stuff so we will do that yet i’m not sure if I’m going to get it planted today i’m hoping to because we’ve had it in the house for a while already and I don’t want it to die this is my first ever rose bush but anyways I’ll take you outside and show you what else I have so this is the rest of my plants i did get a six-pack of tomato plants a six-pack of jalapenos and also some green peppers and then I got six bundles of strawberry plants so it was five plants for $7.99 [Music] this one [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so we just finished planting all the strawberries now I came inside and I prepped us some strawberries for a snack so we’re going to have that and then we’re going to head back outside to the garden and plant the corn so I’m going to take these out to the kids and then we’re going to enjoy these first and while I’m outside in the garden my house is becoming a disaster the kids have been in and out and there’s just stuff everywhere and I guess that’s just what happens when you’re busy and can’t be everywhere all at once so that’ll have to be saved for later probably so I’m back and it’s Monday today i want to get the rest of my garden planted today but we will see what happens my daughters are down for their nap my boys are playing outside right now so I want to show you guys how I plant my carrots if you’re new to my channel welcome my name is Angela feel free to check out my channel for more videos and consider subscribing i would love that so for today’s recipe I’m doing times four i have my four cups of water here we’re going to add it to the pot along with four tablespoon of cornstarch there we go so we’re going to let this come to a boil and we’ll boil it for 5 minutes and then it’s done and then all you got to do is put it into a large Ziploc bag and then we’re going to add the seeds on top of that make sure you mix it around real good so your seeds are nicely incorporated and then all we have to do is make our rose in the garden and then we’ll snip the corner make sure to start small because you don’t want it to come out too quickly and then you’ll squeeze it out into the rose and then cover it with dirt and away you go this is my go-to way to plant carrots that’s how I’ll be doing it for from now on i learned about this trick last year and it was super easy to do and I think I’m going to try it this year with my parsley and other things as well we’ll see how that goes i haven’t tried that way before but I’m sure it will work well just like my carrots did [Music] so for these three rows here that I got ready I wanted to do my corn but I only have a tiny little bag of corn seed so I’m going to have to pick up some more but I will start in this row hopefully I have enough at least for one row [Music] so I got all my seeds laid out in the row i like to do that first and then I’ll go after and push them in and bury them with dirt i just find that it’s goes a lot quicker that way but yeah so that’s how I’m going to do it so I had enough to finish this first row and I’ll have a little left over to start on the second row but we will be getting a little bit more from the greenhouse in the next few days probably make it nice and deep got to be deep enough for this to go into here should I help or are you good here use your muscles you want to try again go hard in and then scoop it up you want to put the plant in for me okay you see which one this one that I open you got to hold it up so it’s not going too far in we’ll fill it in with dirt this is dirt over there all right look at this how’s that look make sure you rip it open

Now I’m going to rip the next one open all right now I’m going to be ready for this one look at that does it look good mhm is it nice and tacked in and straight i think so after we finished planting the tomatoes we moved on to the pepper plants and then we also planted the cucumber seeds and I think that’s all I got done that afternoon it’s nice that the days are starting to get longer the sun stays out a little bit longer so later on in the evening when I put the kids to bed then I went back out to the garden and did some more planting all alone i feel like being in the garden it’s just so relaxing and I enjoy it so much [Music] so it’s after 9:00 p.m now but I still want to get my carrots planted so I’m going to do that now and I wanted to show you so I’ve got my Ziploc bag here going to fill it up with the gel that we made and then I’m going to add the seeds and I’m going to mix that all around then we’re going to head out to the garden and I’ll show you what I do next i’ll throw the bag into here just so it’s easier to get the gel into there and I might have made the gel a little bit too thick so you can do a little bit less cornstarch if you need to but I think this will work just fine and I’m out of breath because I’ve been in the garden all day and I am so tired still haven’t gotten everything planted but that’s okay i got the main things planted the rest is kind of just like experimental stuff okay okay i wasn’t even showing you okay so we’ve got the gel in the Ziploc bag now we’re going to add the carrot seeds on top okay so we got our carrot seeds here just going to pour them into the gel and then we’re going to close it up and get that really well mixed [Applause] together so if you want your seeds to be spaced closer together all you have to do is do less gel and if you want them farther apart you’ll just add some more gel that will make the seeds spaced farther apart so this is what it looks like so we’ve got our gel with our seeds in it now we’re going to head outside and I’ve got my rows ready and we’re going to put them in the rows so here I’ve got my bed area for my carrots i already kind of made some rows where I want the carrots to go so now we’re going to cut the bag open and we’re going to squeeze the gel into each row and we’ll cover it with dirt and then we’re done now all we need to do is squeeze the gel into I think I made it too big [Music] and if you need your seeds spaced farther apart you will just add more gel that way there’ll be more spacing in between the seeds [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] now didn’t that look simple i have a lot left over so I’m going to have to make a few more rows but that’s okay you can never have too many carrots right [Music] so it’s been a while since I filmed everything you just watched and today I am quickly trying to finish up my video so I thought I would take you out and show you the garden it’s grown quite a bit since I planted it all so starting at the front here we set up my garden bench so this corner here I want to make into a nice seating area i got a rose bush and I would also like to plant some more flowers around this area as well so maybe get another rose bush over there and then we want to do a fence around the back and then over here and then we’ll have a little walkway coming by the shed here and then the fence will go here behind the bench and then along the edge of the garden here and over here towards the middle of the garden is where I want to get a garden arch so right here I have kind of a walkway here as well this is where I want to get the arch hoping my husband is going to build it for me and then we will extend the fence to the end there so I’m really looking forward to all these changes happening to my garden i think it’s going to be really fun but here is the corn that we planted it’s starting to come up really nicely it does still have a lot of grass growing in it because this is the spot that used to be grass but it is coming up quite well considering there’ll just be a lot of grass in there that is why I planted the corn over here because I figured it would not matter as much if there was a lot of grass growing in the corn and here by each post I did plant merryolds so I will have merry golds by every stick along this walkway here so I think that’s going to look really pretty once they all bloom but here we have our first row of strawberries i planted four rows this year four rows of June bearing strawberries and these here are the everbearing that I planted last year and this row here is June bearing and then the next one is everbearing and then we have another row of June bearing and we also have this row of trees here we had some extra trees from planting our tree line so we planted them here this one here actually was growing under one of our tomato plants last year and I just kind of left it here to see what it would do cuz we need more shade trees on the yard anyways we don’t really have much shade for the kids to play under but we will be planting these trees somewhere else yet but for now they’re just sitting in the garden and once we have the sideyard finished we will transplant these over there and moving on we just have one more row of strawberries over here so that’s the last of the rows i’m hoping to have a lot of nice strawberry rows next year but here here we planted some onion so I have three small rows of onion here this little bed here is kind of like a experimental bed we haven’t planted these things before but I thought kids love watching it and I enjoy watching it so let’s do a bunch of different things here we have radishes we’ll see if anybody’s going to eat them or if I’m just going to have to give them away and here I also tried out some broccoli i’ve never planted broccoli before so we’ll see this how this turns out and the next part here is my carrots i had to do five rows because I had so many seeds and they are actually starting to come up i don’t know if you can tell here but they are starting to come up it’s been about 12 days I think 11 or 12 days since I planted these and they’re coming up so I’m happy about that and then over here we have our raspberries we have a little patch here and a bigger patch here and I did transplant some that were growing beside and I put them in the middle here so hopefully next year we’ll have a thicker full row of raspberries and over here in the corner is where we planted the rhubarb i don’t know if you remember from my last year’s videos but I wanted them somewhere where they weren’t in the way cuz it’s apparently very hard to get rid of rhubarb if you don’t want them anymore and over here this back row in the garden is where I planted my cucumbers and they are coming up as well so these guys have lots of room to grow cuz I planted them all the way in the back of the garden and over there behind the shed all the way to those trees is where we planted our tree line so I’m back at the front of the garden now and this is where we planted two rows of green peppers let me see they’re actually called the Better Bell peppers i like to freeze those put them in the freezer but a bird decided to chop off one of my plants so I don’t know if this one’s going to make it or not or I don’t know what I should do with it but over here we have some tomato plants we also have one that is broken here so I’ll probably have to get rid of that one as well i don’t know if four plants will be enough so I might have to end up getting another pack of tomato plants but these ones are looking nice and healthy I think and then over here are the jalapeno peppers we like to freeze these as well so I I don’t know i might get another pack of these too but we will see so here is our apple tree we have this one planted right beside the garden and we actually bought this one at Canadian Tire and it has grown so much i think we planted it last year or was it the year before and it’s doing so well we just finished fertilizing it and putting down fresh mulch so I thought I would show you that that’s our apple tree but yeah that’s all I have for today’s video thank you all so much
