Not sure whats going on with the area in the second photo. Admittedly photo one is the section dominated by kikuyu whereas the area in the second photo is mostly couch in a shadier spot. Question is, is it just a case of waiting for the kike to take over the couch? I've been waiting for a few years for that to happen but never seems to happen. The area looks horrible in the winter, and dries out and struggles in the summer. Would the shade really make that much of a difference?
Before anyone chimes in bagging kikuyu, the lawn is well bordered so it keeps under control. Its also a lawn where the dog wees and poos which the kike seems to handle exceptionally better than couch or buffalo.
