I picked up a ROF that been growing in a bowl of water. What is the best way to make a happy transfer to soil?

  1. Keep adding a spoon of soil every day? 😂 I don’t know.

Just pot it and water it then water again when the pot is light

I don’t ever have a problem transferring to soil. I often put my water propagation straight into soil and water immediately. Sprinkling some Mycorrhizal Fungi will help, but I’ve never had any plants go into shock. Best of luck! 🍀

It kinda depends. A lot of these are actually soil grown and they just put them in these vases to sell so in that case it would probably be thankful if you got it out hahaha

Otherwise they do fine with the transfer as long as you dont let them immediately dry out. Just slowly ease off the water. I usually do a smaller pot, i know you’ll have to repot sooner again but it’s better to give more airflow ☺️

  5. I prefer to pot from water to moss. Prevents gnats and keeps the moisture level high!

Six inch pot. Keep it moist for the first month then treat like any other Philo.

Just don’t let it dry out at first

Have it get used to wet and dry cycle. Keep in water. Leave it dry overnight. Repeat for 3 days. Refill with water. Leave it dry for a day. Repeat for 3 days. By that time, roots should be capable of handling the wet-dry cycle that potting mix provides. Probs extend this to two weeks, if the plant was sentimental to me.

Note: Will probably only work for aroids and not plants that are more herbaceous.
