one thing that I love about a lotment gardening is having this freedom this sense of you can kind of do what you want on your own a lotment plot no one’s telling you what to do it’s your plot your rules success or failure it doesn’t really matter being outside being at one with nature in your garden and expressing your creativity what’s not to love and in today’s video I want to share with you two creative ideas that I’ve come up with on my a lotment plot who knows if they’ll be a success or failure you’ll have to subscribe and follow along to find out it’ll be really fun and interesting to see whether the vision in my mind actually comes into reality in my garden first idea I want to share with you is around pumpkins and I’ve got three pumpkins in sacks of manure with a little bit of soil on top and they’re the variety called Baby Boo i’ve positioned these sacks right up against the edge of my a lotment plot and I’ve raised the sacks up with a little bit of wood chippings just to give them a little bit of extra height i’ve not grown baby boo pumpkins before but I believe they’re a white pumpkin and they don’t grow massive they probably grow about this big but of course the one thing about pumpkins are they trail so the vision for these pumpkins is that I’m hoping they’re going to trail out of these sacks and then I’m going to train them as best as possible to come up over these pieces of wood that I’ve screwed into this plank along here trailing the pumpkins sideways is something I’d not really considered before and giving them some height as well so that they’re not resting on the ground it could be a real fun and interesting piece on my a lotment plot i know some people have done pumpkin archways before and they look absolutely fantastic but you’ve got to have the materials to do that haven’t you so let’s keep an eye on this be interesting to see whether I can actually manage to get those pumpkins to trail up along that piece of wood so here I am at the back of my a lotment plot to share with you the second idea that I came up with this morning and those of you that have followed me for a while will recall the shelter that I built at the back of my a lotment plot with some old materials and I’ve done something a little bit interesting and I’m not entirely sure how this is going to play out but let’s take a look just before I show you actually the second idea I have planted two more of those baby boo pumpkins in some sacks down here with the plan of me trailing them up the side of this shelter but here we’ve got two tomato plants that I’ve planted upside down bought these upside down planters from Amazon i’ll leave the link in the description below but they they were quite heavy when I put the horse manure and a little bit of soil in them i did originally buy them to hang on my poly tunnel but to be honest with you even just hanging one of these on the top of my poly tunnel it would have likely just collapsed in a heap to put the plants in these upside down planters was actually quite easy because there’s a very handy zip here you just unzip it put the plant in close the zip up and then I filled this with a little bit of soil to about here and then some horse manure but yeah this is going to be really interesting to see what happens here i don’t even know the varieties of the tomatoes cuz they were given to me by an aotment friend but will they come down and touch the floor am I going to have to shorten these straps who knows how interesting the concept of planting things upside down this could be a real showpiece on my a lotment plot in 2025 and it does expand ideas of where you can plant things there you go those are the two ideas that I’ve come up with on my a lotment plot this morning i hope you enjoyed the video give it a thumbs up if you like this sort of content and subscribe to see how these get on thank you very much for watching and I’ll see you next time
