Hey everyone!
Some of you might remember my monster Anthurium pallidiflorum with leaves stretching over 2 meters long (not even counting the petiole!).
I truly believe it's one of the largest in the world, and it's been an absolute joy to watch it thrive.
But now, it's revealed an even more astonishing secret! This non-variegated mother plant has produced beautifully variegated seedlings from its seeds!
This is an incredibly rare and potentially world-first discovery for Anthurium pallidiflorum – stable variegation passed on genetically through seeds. It's not a sport or a fluke; it's truly in its DNA.
The larger variegated plant you see in the photos is from an older batch of seeds, and the smaller, newer ones are from a more recent self-pollination. The consistent emergence of variegation in these different batches firmly confirms its genetic basis.
While I know not every seedling will make it, I am absolutely thrilled about this unique development. I'm so excited to continue breeding and strengthening this special, variegated line.
What an extraordinary plant!
