Another area of no-lawn transformation. First shot was roughly 15 years ago ago with a large area of grass and a huge Tulip Poplar.
Next shot is a couple years later. The Tulip Poplar bece unstable and had to be removed. 3 River Birch and a Crepe Myrtle were installed.
Most recent is the same area of lawn, taken looking towards the street from about where the Poplar had been. The entire area is now heavily shaded with the plants outside the fence being deer resistant ferns, hellebore, astilbe, spirea. The area inside the fence is a moss lawn and hosta bed that I put in a couple years ago. Waiting on the hosta to fill in.
