A coworker was giving away this plan that an intern had brought in and left behind. Not sure but I suspect it may be a Desert Rose? Only has one good leaf. Is it worth saving? What should I do to rehabilitate it if possible?
I would say so. It looks like it’s just coming out of dormancy vs being on its last leg.

Looks like it’s in straight soil, pull it out and put it in more high draining substrate, I usually do 25% soil and 75% inorganics (pebbles, perlite, pumice, etc.).
Desert rose are fairly easy just keep in a sunny spot and in the summer either water when it’s looking thirsty or give it’s base a squeeze, if it’s not firm give it a bit of water. In winter it goes dormant if under about 50 degrees, you’ll know by it dropping it’s leaves, when this happens reduce watering to a little bit once a month, it’s doesn’t need much as you’re mostly giving water so the roots don’t dry to such an extent that they die.

Change its soil please to something less organic and give it all the light you have
