I’m ripping theses out every day and they’re been so annoying to keep in check.

They grow a lot taller than my fescue so it’s easy to see where it is but no matter how many I pull out more grows… any chance I can get rid of it without killing the lawn? It’s brand new from last fall when I overseeded and I don’t really want to start over but will 100% Nuke it if I have to .. please help

Could be Bermuda grass but I don’t know

Looks like tall fescue seeds to me my guy 🤣

  2. Looks like a rye grass.

On a side note, when did you last sharpen your mower blades?

That mower blade needs a sharpening! Ripe for a fungus outbreak

  4. What seed did use to overseed last fall? What you’re seeing here is the existing grass going to seed. I think some of those seed heads look like rye and others are tall fescue.

In my experience new lawns put out way more seed heads the first year after renovations and decrease each following year. The good news is that the “weed” you are seeing is a turf grass, it’s just a temporary inconvenience

Rye grass is okay man, just cut it regularly like any other grass

  6. I have the same “weed” in my lawn. So it’s not Poa Annua? I overseeded last fall with Jonathan Green California blend. Will check label to see if Rye included.

Its fescue seedhead stalks for sure. I have it going on right now as this is the time of year. Wish we had old mod that would weed out these stab in the dark responses.
