SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – We’re continuing our Small Town Spotlight with McCrory Gardens!
Nestled in Brookings, SD, are the botanical gardens and South Dakota State Arboretum, better known as McCrory Gardens.
They’ve got a big milestone they’re celebrating this year, 60 years of operation.
Marketing Director Alyson Swanson and Director of Operations Lisa Marotz joined Dakota News Now to tell us how they’re celebrating.
“We have an All Crew Reunion is what we’re planning this year on the Annual Garden Party Day, August 1. We’re always looking for people who used to work at the gardens, We want to hear from you. We’ve got the invitations ready to come. We want to hear the stories,” said Marotz.
“We are promoting both the Forever 605 Campaign, as well as the South Dakota Passport program, if you haven’t heard of that. The Passport program is basically to get people out to explore the hidden gems of tourist attractions in South Dakota that they don’t normally go. So you can go online to Travel South Dakota, get that information. You can check into different locations and win some super cool prizes,” said Swanson.
