Didn’t know the name but I think a paludarium is what I have here! I have a waterfall (tube in the upper left corner) that’s providing a waterfall/rain effect and the pump is a an old cat fountain pump houses inside a box of extra cat fountain filters I had laying around! The bottom is aquarium sand and the wood is a piece I found in the woods.
Like I said this is an experiment, so I am definitely open to pointers!
I have a trap for springtails set in my yard, I’m hoping to find some because there is some mold on the log.
I’m using distilled water because I’m trying to make this a carnivorous habitat, thinking about growing bladderwort in the reservoir, or maybe even making a sphagnum bog.
