There is nothing I can do to keep them out of her reach. After this I jumped up to stop her eating it.
She snacks on everything, as a result I have a strict no Lilly policy (the only truly deadly plant to cats) and have to keep everything else up out of reach. But cats be cat, they still find a way !!
I had to bring my lucky bamboo to the office as she kept pulling them out of the pot and throwing them on the floor. For reasons đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž

Kitties can hear the plant’s vibrations

No girl, that kitten is interested in the floating toys.

  3. trwwypkmn

Those look like pothos, which are toxic as well.

Could you fasten the plants in place onto that rod? Maybe the cat won’t be able to get to it if it can’t pull it closer to it

  5. my cats are as well. one of them likes to push things off shelves, & the other one likes to chew. best of both worlds.

Can you link the cat tree? I’m in the market for a new one and have a very similar set up!

i gave my cats spider plants to chew instead of my other plants, but just in case all my other plants are various calatheas, which are non toxic

It doesn’t help that she’s orange haha. Mine treats plants like salad too but generally doesn’t go out of her way to grab them at least.

Now that’s a problem yikes, however it sounds like you are already on it! I had cats all my life- unbelievable that none of them messed with my plants, even the two kittens I adopted they liked to run up my window screens
Will have to keep coming up with ideas like you moved the hanging plants out of reach!

I had the same issue. Then I just said screw it and put plants all over my house. Now my cats don’t care because there’s so many.

My plants are in the basement because of my cats đŸ€·â€â™€ïž segregating them to an area where they aren’t allowed, or giving them away, is the only way to truly keep the cats safe (and the plants!)

Sadly I think I’m going to give them away

She is just doing her job as an indoor plant caretaker. My office building has one, but you are clearly upper crust with an at home one. I hope you pay her well commiserate with her skills, considering the extra effort she has to make to reach them in hard to access places. r/catswithjobs

I would try and hang them from actual ceiling hooks if you can and maybe rotate some of the cat platforms away from the plants (if possible)

Worst thing’s worst move the cat tree

How much bad luck is it to walk up on a black cat eating lucky bamboo?

Of course it’s an orange cat. 🍊

  18. Lavendericing

Id put an actual toy hanging near the cat so he doesn’t want to play with the hanging plants

  19. DonutWhole9717

My plants live in my guest bedroom during off season, and the cats are banned

  20. GoatHeadBabe

Get her her own hanging toys, cat grass etc put cat nip and treats

Redirect when she goes for yours to hers

I can’t have indoor plants anymore. My cat and I miss them very much. My patio is filled though. She stares at them through the window longingly. Wishing for that sweet sweet taste of plant again. Hoping to one day reclaim her natural dirt potty. Not going to happen kitty.

  22. DieselNewmanArthur

Be careful sone plants are poison to cats

  23. CalliopeCelt

Get them some spider plants. They are non toxic and mildly hallucinogenic. Or catnip plants or cat grass both of which are safe.

  24. PhantomLuna7

I grow cat grass and catnip to keep mine back from the plants they aren’t allowed to chew.

They tend to go for them over everything else now.
