I can't stop buying plants and I'm now running out of space. Also money. I get way too excited when they grow a new leaf. I've been checking on that new monstera leaf around 10 times per day to see how it's getting on.

Is there such a thing as “too many”? I may have a problem 😂

Never can have enough. Unless you can’t care for them or wind up on Hoarders: House Plant Edition.

I have 70+ plants. Still growing and propping things. Other folks have 100 or even 200 and still want more! Then you have people who are just fine with 2-3.

I will only have too many plants when I can’t care for each of them properly. Until then, the collection keeps going!

  4. Sufficient_Drawer390

Is that a peace Lilly you have growing in a fish tank?

  5. I’ve got over 90 and still going so… I’ll let you know 😬

  6. caffein8dnotopi8d

According to me… whatever the number is, it’s well over 238.

  7. daiblo1127

There is never too many when the plants love you so much. They are thriving under your care. What is the name of the Zig Zag plant? It’s awesome!!!

I’ve decided that plant parents are the MOST impatient people in the universe. That’s why we have so many because if one is not growing someone else has a new leaf! Lmao no patience involved

  10. That’s a bold thing to say with that much table space! 🩷🌿🫶🏻

As long as there’s enough room, there’s no limit!
I’ve just started to have plants in my room and I absolutely love it! Even have a good sized FLF that gets the prime spot directly in front of my window door

Just curious, what’s the plant with the really round leaves in the second picture? It looks a lot like the tiny plant that’s popped up in my fiddle leaf pot

The limit does not exist. Buy to your hearts content 🙂

  13. There appears to be like 9 pictures of roughly 1 plant per picture. You should automatically say yes to any cool plant you see for at least 90 more plants. After that, depending on the size of the plants, you could start asking about “too many”.

Too many? No such thing. My house would be green without the paint.

  15. Successful_Mango9951

Oh my goodness what is plant number 5??!! Swoon

There’s no such thing as too many plants!

I think it’s too many when they become a burden to take care of or if they start to annoy you. I had over a 100 at one time and it got overwhelming and I started disliking the ones that weren’t thriving. How mean! But it’s true, I felt like I was doing all I knew how to do for them and they would not be happy. I sold a lot of them on marketplace which made me feel good because a lot of people I sold them too were freshly getting into caring for plants and it made them very happy too because I was selling them for very very cheap.
I never had expensive ones thankfully. I was never brave enough to do that.
All of yours are beautiful by the way!

What plant is on slide 5? It’s so pretty!

  20. KatiMinecraf

Too many? What does that even mean? Empty space? Plant. Empty pot? Plant. Window sill with 3 inches of flat surface area? Plant. Space on the ceiling? Hanging plant! Moved some outdoors for the summer? Whoah! Look at all that empty space that could be used for more plants! (This one can get you in a bit of trouble though. It gets me every dang year!)

  21. mrsmushroom

Too many is when you feel burdened by their care. I have around 50 plants and I’m at a good number right now. Had to take out a couple of high demand plants in the past.

  22. This_Buds_For_You

The limit is when you can no longer give all of them the care they need.

  23. Kind_Driver3984

Never enough – next fill the backyard up with self planted flowers and trees

  24. PepsiPartyTime

Totally get the “checking leaves over and over in a single day” 😂 I have a new bottle rocket caladium I got that only had 1 leaf and a couple growing. Now she had 4 leaves and 2 that are still growing (one of the 2 that’s growing is a GIANT)

  25. MwaslametryFEM

My partner has over 200. There’s no surfaces left in the house. I shower in a jungle

  26. swamp-gremlin-69

What is #4? Beautiful collection 🙂 I am personally still trying to figure it out but my rules right now are 1) do I have space? And 2) do I have the capacity to care for more plants right now?

  27. Bulimic_Radiation

Wow! You have a remarkable collection of specimens 🪴🤗never enough!😁❤️

  28. ButterflyOrdinary173

I have around 50. I could push it significantly lol I try to limit myself so I collect over time and I’ve gotten pickier as in collecting more rare finds, new challenges, or specific plants for specific areas of my house. I used to just buy whatever but as my collection grew I try to focus more on what I have and making them healthier

  29. tropicacti

What’s the lime green dappled colocasia variety? So pretty

  30. globalistics

There is no limit. Get as many as you feel that you can take care of and can afford. Remember the point of it all – to take care of and nurture a piece of nature and to see it grow from your hands.

(Btw, I want a mojito pilea soooo bad 😭 does it’s care differ from the regular green form?)

I feel this so hard but my problem is trees moreso than houseplants.
In the almost 4 yrs since I moved into this house I have planted 72 trees and bushes:
    – 11 citrus (lime, lemons, kumquat, mandarins, oranges)
    – 2 avocado
    – 4 pear
    – 3 apple
    – 4 mulberry
    – 2 pawpaw
    – 3 banana
    – 1 loquat
    – 1 olive
    – 1 persimmon
    – 1 plum
    – 1 peach
    – 4 fig
    – 1 nectarine
    – 3 pomegranate
    – 1 cherry of the Rio grande
    – 4 jujube (these I grew from seed, so much cheaper)
    – 2 pineapple guava (also grown from seed, also cheap)
    – 2 passion fruit vines
    – 12 blackberry bushes
    – 9 blueberry bushes

In addition to a strawberry patch, asparagus patch, raised vegetable garden, in ground veggie garden, some pineapple plants, and a few potted plants.

I just started collecting houseplants as well (only 10 small ones so far) and I fear I will fall down a huge rabbit hole with these as well lmao.

Ugh. Just remembered my dad threw away a 10foot monstera because it’s (roots) ruining the wall 😅
