The thrips go away when I used predatory mites, but always come back on this pink princess. Let’s see if I can drown them. The foam is dishwashsoap to break the hypertension of the bugs.
Has anyone ever had good results with this?
What… what do you have there for killing them btw? 👀 is it just ordinary dish soap? asking for a “friend”
I have used spray bottle with greensoap and water in the leaves, it gets the surface trips off if I hit them all, but I have not tried to use it on the dirt itself! Please update how it goes, fingers crossed that it works for you!❤️

It’s not just the adults you have to deal with. It’s the larve in the soul. You can’t drown the larve and even if you drown the adults, they’ve already laid their eggs in the soil. It’s a bummer.
Nice set up tho. 😊

This would certanly work for spider mites! You might wanna try systemics for thrips tho

When I had thrips I took cuttings of some plants and drowned the cuttings. Worked like a charm on all the nooks and crannies of denser plants. Used it with beneficial insects to get rid of thrips after spending over a year trying different sprays and oils with no success. Wish that systemics were available in Canada but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Y’all will do literally anything other than buy a damn bottle of bug spray.

This is the best way to get rid of consistent pest problems. I’ve had much success with doing this to 30+ plants.

Not sure about thrips but I did this for spider mites after battling them for months on end with them always coming back and it worked like a dream! Best of luck!

Systemic treatment is the only way I’ve been able to really get rid of thrips.

Replace dirt with fresh new dirt and wash gently with water then spray roots and the entire plant with insecticide soap!!. I use Safers End all insecticide soap, sometimes when I’m lazy I just soak the dirt with it and then water it in later definitely not as effective lol. Also mixing in diatomaceous earth in your soil also helps kill and prevent pests from the soil and it doesn’t hurt the plant at all. Good luck! Evil things they are!
