Got this FLF from a friend and it had leaves about halfway down. Freaked out when it got to my house and fell over once so lost a lot of leaves. Hasn’t grown any new leaves since last summer except the small one at the base. It looks pitiful & I’ve tried notching but I don’t have a green thumb. Thoughts on what to do? Chop it? Toss it? Something else?

I’m not a pro at this, but I would chop! Maybe 1/3,1/3 1/3. Definitely get rooting powder (mine didn’t root until I did).
Hopefully, more experienced will chime in.

If it were mine, I would chop about 9 inches from the dirt on an angle with sterilized pruning shears. You can propagate the top with rooting powder straight into dirt the original stock I would sit outside in full sun fertilizing once a week until new growth starts once new growth starts only morning sun up until 10 AM

Totally concur, chop, chop. It will be fine & eventually beautiful!

I suggest cutting it back..just keep a stump at 1.5-2 ft tall..it’ll bud in several weeks+..and put it on a plant stand/stool(take away this basket)..let this tropical plant get more sunlight..also water it thoroughly each time(water it once every 10-14days)….June is coming,do it asap!
