Bought this yesterday, 2 packs, and opened one. Saw these guys moving around after I got home unfortunately. What are they? Okay to rinse / boil and eat the broccoli?
The broccoli itself was packaged, so I'm hoping the other one is okay but haven't checked yet. Will try to return both today

Naw definitely return if you can. Or boil if you have no choice.
Aphids. They aren’t THAT harmful, but definitely return or if you need to eat them, dispose the parts with the aphids
They’re just aphids. You can rinse them off and any stragglers will die in the cooking process
Organic food is more expensive because pests cause lower yields. And vice versa, the non-organic is cheaper because the pesticides prevent the bugs from eating crops.
Edit: yes, I know of the organic pesticides and organic fertilizers. These chemicals are more expensive per unit. And since this organic broccoli is infested with aphids, clearly there isn’t a sufficient quantity applied
Completely harmless and actually a good sign there’s no strong pesticides. Rinse cook and eat NP
Free protein!
Rinse it well. Broccoli and other brassicas commonly have aphids (esp if organic). If you frequently eat cauliflower or broccoli — you’ve already eaten a few and they did no harm.
Bugs on organic vegetables and fruits is common. At least it’s a sign they actually didn’t use harmful pesticides, unless those insects are resistant to it. Anyway you should always wash your vegetables with water, no mater if it’s organic or not.
Only raw meat shouldn’t be washed, because contamination could be spread all over the product. Cooking it well should eliminate any bacteria, although not the toxins.
Extra protein
Aphid. They’re not poisonous, just haven’t been sprayed off with pesticides.
Thats what you get with “organic”. Rinse it off and cook it
Protein
You purchase “ organic “you get bonus bugs 🐛- more protein for you 😊👍
Be very careful with Aldi. I bought some maple syrup that had black slime in it
Look up how to clean broccoli with soaking. It will bring all these guys to the top.
Looks like squash bugs. This is why we had Inspectors at the border catching these things.
Everything looks organic to me. Those are just the Aldi “taste testers” verifying no poisonous chemicals are present. You are good to go!

Nothing everything in this photo is organic. It’s what you paid for
you can soak it in salt water for a few minutes and they’ll float to the top. They’re harmless little guys tho
Organic Aphids! My sister convinced me to taste them as a kid. Told me they were sweet, and guess what, they were. Kid things 🙃

lol everyone saying they’re just aphids don’t worry is a joke. There are dead ones encrusted into the food. Like what, no go get your refund and better uninfested food
