I’ve got a Bermuda lawn that I’ll be leveling in early summer. Central NC. Not afraid of engine repair and Maintenence but I’ve never backlapped or messed with rotary mowers.

Sharpening these is easier than sharpening a standard mower blade IMO, at least the manual version is, I don’t imagine the process is much different for this version.

That’s a good buy, if it works. The engine is easy to rebuild, but the mechanism can be tricky. Parts can be hard to find, but I believe that they’re still available with some fortitude.

$200 for a reel mower? Hell yeah man

End of the day its $200. That’s not nothing but you’ll bounce back from it. Worst-case its a pretty cool decoration. People pay way more for lawn sculptures than $200!

Where the fuck are the rollers?

Weirds me out seeing a cylinder mower without rollers.

Make sure you can find replacement reel and bedknife for when they wear out. I bought a 17” McLane for my first gas powered reel mower. Couldn’t find a replacement reel or bedknife for it since it had been discontinued. Oddball size reels can be hard to find any the mower is worthless if they’re worn out and can’t be replaced.
