I need suggestions. My 4 year old FLF is almost 8ft tall now and leggy with sparse leaves. My plan is to cut it down in half, plant the top half in the same pot or another, and leave the bottom part and cross my fingers they both survive and thrive. Do you think it will work? I tried many times pinching the new growths on top to encourage it to grow new leaves on the bottom half but it didn't work. I also notched the main stem, but still nada. My main goal is to have it around 5ft tall but bushy. If it helps, the stem looks woody and matured already. Thanks in advance!

It’s looking for light. Put in next to a window

Top chop will strengthen the stem/trunk you need to give him a shake 3+x day .
Now that you’ve bought time decide what you want to do.

I chopped mine and it started growing leaves within a month and a half (I have 3 new stems of multiple leaves). Also, move somewhere that it has more light.
