I was looking around my yard and I’m so happy with how everything is growing. I really love the lengago’s color right now! The Monarda was planted as a bare root last spring. It’s really taken off. Surprisingly, so has the Solidago. I grew it from seed indoors and planted it last spring. It did not die back over the winter. Once spring weather rolled in, its doubled in size. Dogwood was struggling last year when I put it in ground. Some stems died. It’s bounced back nicely. The Aguiligea was barely an inch tall the first week of April and now it’s getting ready to flower. This was also put in last spring as bareroot. Liatris did not grow much when I planted it as bareroot last spring. Hopefully I get a ton of growth. The rest of the plants were winter sown in jugs and I put them in ground this week. Happy growing everyone!

Looking good! I know the feeling of walking though the yard and seeing what’s coming back. I actually do a little dance. 😄

Yay! Spring is such an exciting time. Also, thank you for posting pics with species names. As a newer gardener, I have a hard time distinguishing something I planted from an interloper

This is looking great! I don’t have Aesclepias tuberosa in the ground yet but my Aesclepias incarnata will be popping out of the ground soon! Swamp typically takes longer in my region to break ground so I’m not sad to not see any green yet. Symphotrichum novae-angliae is going crazy though! It branched out more than I expected in my compacted soil

Thanks! Nice, I have incarnata as well. I put a mature plant in ground last year. New growth is just starting. I forgot to mention that I’m in 7b NYC. I was looking into those asters but ended up going with Symphyotrichum oolentangiense for the lighter color.
