Please dont judge me π I got this plant probably over 5 years ago and have never changed the soil or pot or really done anything but water it. It suffered from root rot a few years ago and lost a ton of leaves. I still didnt do anything. It somehow is starting to thrive again and it's getting lots of new leaves. Can I cut the top off and propagate it? Would I have to cut off all/several of the leaves for it to work? What point should I cut it at? Since the bare section is so long, could I take a section of that and propagate that too? I've tried googling what to do but I'd like real-people advice on my specific plant.

Gotta chop and prop! Cut right above the lowest set of leaves. If youβd like, you can propagate the other two and replant those. What is the climate like where you are? If itβs already warm Iβd put it outside in a spot where it can get a good amount of early morning Sun. If not, in the absolute brightest window you have AND if inside give it a decent little shake every time you walk by. Also, some plant food will help. Like Espoma Plant food and a little Superthrive. π
You can notch down the trunk and put it outside for summer depending on your location! Hit it with some Superthrive to perk it up and Fish emulsion for fertilizer. It should branch for you ! Neem oil once a month for pest control. A covered porch is best. Be sure to use a water meter and check water regularly!
