  2. Excellent logical and informative video! I watched to see if you had a tidbit to brush up on my knowledge–you had several, so thanks!

  3. I got a bag of banana potatoes and the instructions says that keep in a bright place for a month for sprouting . Makes me confused, 😂😂😂

  4. I bought potatoes from the baby potato company at costco for 5 dollars I think it was 10 pounds
Put them in a paper bag with an onion
    They sprouted in 4 days
I buried them like a month ago, and they're growing!

  5. Thank you for a great video on planting potatoes, I have watched several this evening and you have explained the process better than any other video I have watched. I do have one question, last year I saw flowers growing on my potato plants, I cut them all off, my yield was not so good, should I leave them on? Thanks again for putting out such wonderful videos, I have learned so much.

  6. In Alaska 100% illegal to plant anything other than certified seed potatoes to prevent the spread of potato blight common in L48

  7. I planted my potatoes before watching this video, smh. It's supposed to storm bad tomorrow. Do I add fertilizer after the storm?

  8. I was of the understanding that potatoes do not like nitrogen. I used plant tone last year and it was NOT a good harvest. Very few large fruits and TONS of 1-2” and marble size.

  9. Really helpful information I planted potatoes in 20 gal bags last year and I learned a lot about what not to do and with this information I am sure I can grow a successful crop. I also planted Yukon Gold potatoes from the store and they were just fine. Will buy store potatoes for growing this year.

  10. Hi! Thanks for your videos! I have 2 bags of grocery store taters, that are sprouting and I'd like to plant them. Does it matter if they've turned a bit green? Thanks.

  11. I found this video to be very informative. In the past I was discouraged and disappointed in my potato harvest; I realize now I did not fertilize enough. Or at all.

With these tips I am feeling encouraged and looking forward to trying again this year. My garden is is in zone 6a, near Toronto.

  12. I have never fertilized the hell out of my potatoes I do a mushroom compost at the beginning of the year and that's all it gets for the entire season

  13. I'm sorry… I am a big follower of yours, however, this is the worst potato advice on Youtube. Buy potatoes at the store? What? The outcome of your suggestions is evident by the meager harvest of potatoes you show.

  14. Thanks so mich for a bery detailed video !
However, it would be much more helpful and i terestimg , if you can shows in your video the pictures or lips of eaxh step , from
beginning to the end , happy harvesting!
Thanks so much for your time to share with us !

  15. Love this, very informative! Newbie here. I cut up 4 types of seed potatoes but also going to try grocery store with Eyes already grown & not cut up!

  16. My potatoes don't root above the root zone. I don't find that they root along the stem like tomatoes do. What I mean is that potato baskets don't increase yields, Do you agree?

  17. C’est la première fois que ferai pousser des patates et je vais le faire avec tes conseils. J’ai acheté des patates rattes et je vais utiliser des sacs de culture. Merci 😊 P.S. Je suis du Québec, au Canada

  18. You said nothing about drainage for your above ground containers. I have grown them for years but always put holes in the bottom of the containers. New Subscriber.

  19. I got cocky and threw mine in the ground without chitting in early March and was getting worried but they have all now sprouted in late April. Willamette Valley in Oregon so it's hard to mess up potatoes but I was sweating a little.
