I’m designing a special corner of my backyard around the beautiful Bloodgood Japanese Maple—one of my new favorite trees 🍁 I’m excited about the color!

Come along with me as I:
Share why I chose the Bloodgood over other Japanese maple varieties
Show you the exact spot I’m (trying!) to plant it
Talk through my real-life sprinkler dilemma 😅
Offer tips for sunlight, watering, and care
Show landscaping ideas with companion plants
Talk about the vines I’m adding for filtered light

  1. I love how you explain your thought process behind the design, it's really helpful and goves me so many (more!) ideas. Looking forward to seeing how your garden continues to evolve ☺️

  2. Everyyear I want to get a Japanese maple but I don’t have a partially shaded area to put it in. Our summers are super hot. Maybe this will be the year.

  3. This is one of my favorite trees! I wish I had the space for one. Can't wait to see yours grow, it will be stunning.

  4. Imo, other than esthetics, there's no reason to have japanese maples or any of these other foreign maple trees in north america. They bring disease. Sugar maple is by far a superior native tree
