Last season a lawn company took out most of the weeds that were growing on this hill. I was wondering what the best grass to plant is because the hill is shaded for more than half the day. I'm in Upstate SC. The flat part of the land is bermuda but it does the worst in other shady spots of the yard as well. Is it OK to have two grass types butted up together? Would I need to till the hill before planting?

A cool season fescue would work, but I don’t like bermuda and fescue together…

I would go with either zoysia or st augustine.

Zoysia and bermuda play nice together, but st augustine can handle a lot of shade.
