It’s been dropping leaves and turning yellow at the bottom. I repotted it yesterday from its original plastic nursery container as there were roots coming out the bottom. The roots were darker brown/black on the bottom of root as compared to lighter brown towards the top of roots. South east window. I water it every 8-10 days (sometimes longer). Root rot infection?

It does seem like root rot, especially with yellow leaves and if the roots were black at the bottom. New, healthy roots would be white. Plastic pots hold on to moisture longer than terracotta, so it may not have been dry even after 10 days, if you were drenching the plants when watering. If you can, try to check on the root ball again and cut away any rot you see with clean scissors (rot will be slimy, squishy, and stink).
It could also be some shock from replanting as they are dramatic. Checking on the roots may also shock it a bit, but I think that’d be better than it continuing to rot.
Turn those leaves over, see any spider mite? If so spray with neem oil.
This looks like spider mite damage, not root rot. If you zoom in on photos 4 and 6, you can see little white specks on the leaves which are likely spider mites. I would take the plant outside, hose it down, and treat with neem oil. Also, in my experience, root rot tends to have a bad smell and the roots are slimy/mushy, not just darker.
