Just finished top dressing. 5cu. yd. What’s next??
Lawn was in was bad shape. Finished spreading 5 cu yards of top soil. Plan on seeding once we see consistent warmer temps. Any suggestions or tips on what to do next to make this flourish?
Late summer/early fall is the best time to seed cool season lawns.

You can and should do the seed now. It will be fine and will start to grow, evne if not perfect temp.
Use quality seed, Twin City, United, Stover, etc.. All of them have good seeds, and good blends. It matters.
Apply seed, then apply Scotts Turf Builder for Seeding. Make sure it says for Seeding. It has Meso, which will block some weed seeds, but will also allow grass to grow.
5-6 weeks later, grass should be well established. You then can apply Lesco Stonewall 0-0-7 for season long weed protection.. Then Lesco 30-0-10 for feeding into mid-late Summer.
Keep it moist… I like to use tack straw to cover seed. It protects the seed, and prevents runoff from watering/rain.
Do not use peat, it’s very bad for seed.. If you don’t do straw, after you apply the seed, rake it over first gently…then apply the Scotts stuff and water, etc…

Put some seed down, rake in and water every day.
I just did this. It only took about 3 weeks to completely fill in all the dirt.
