Mowing my yard and this giant hole is chilling by the side of my house. What did this? A mole? Any help is appreciated 🤣

A small mammal of some kind. Exactly what will somewhat depend on where you live.

That’s definitely a rabbit preparing for babies, which will be in a matter of days.

I had a rabbit make a hole behind my hvac and another next to the clean out. It must move around at night because I never see it but find its poop. Apparently it had 4 little bunnies. I was out playing with the kids in the yard and my dogs were also out. Heard screaming around the side of the house and had no idea what it was. Apparently my terrier/chihuahua mix thought they were toys and was throwing them up in the air. 2 of them were in a frozen state and 2 others escaped the dog. One of the 2 that escaped was frozen in the corner of a brick hiding. A perfectly calm relaxing spring day turned into absolute mayhem.

Man that seems mighty perfect for an animal… looks like someone shot a conduit missle and it came out in your back yard

Mama rabbit….they aren’t the smartest and always find odd places to make their nest.

Check for fur in the hole. Probably a rabbit. Biggest problem is they always dig a new hole instead of reusing them.

No dogs no problem. You’ll have baby rabbits around for a handful of weeks. They will eat stuff around the yard. Medium risk you hit one with the lawn mower when it’s little.

Masonry termites. J/k Most likely a rabbit and your grass looks great!

  8. Let’s not go down this rabbit hole again 😏

Well seems the consensus is a rabbits nest, which I’ll gladly take over a vermin infestation 🤣 thank you to all who commented!

A fucking rabbit. And I’m am the opposite of everyone here saying to let them live or whatever. Fill the hole and put a trap there so you can catch and kill it or deport it to another county if your feeling nice.

Or just let the rabbit and it’s babies live so they keep making holes in your lawn for generations.

I had one do this and it was war.

Work to hard on my lawn to have som asshole rabbit come in and dig a birthing hole 6 feet straight out from my back door that I had to see every day.

I chase any rabbit off my property with extreme prejudice now. Fuck those things.

Where there are rodents, snakes might appear. I found some little field mice and chipmunks running throughout my yard. The next week, I noticed they were all gone and a 4′ king snake took up residence in my firewood. I tell you this only in case you have children running around. I relocated snakey to a farmers field a half-mile away.

Wild rabbits are becoming more and more rare. Please leave them undisturbed. I miss seeing the family of bunnies in my backyard at the old house.
