The photo is real. It would help if you gave information about your plant and it’s environment.

The *Aglaonema* look like they’re in 4” pots so I would guess that the snake plant probably isn’t much more than 1.5-2’ tall.
But slow growth is usually a sign of too little light and/or improper watering. A south-facing window would be best (in northern hemisphere). Make sure it’s in really gritty soil. Drench it when the pot feels light and the soil is completely dry.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but as fae as I know, there are mid variants and tall variants. You probably have the shorter one, provided it’s been with you for years in a sunny spot and hasn’t grown in height.
I’ve had mine for about 5 years, it is in direct sun and it’s huge!
She’s not a moonshine but my wife brought her home as a single leaf cutting from her landlord when she first moved in with me, that was 12 years ago. Look at her now, she gets 5 hours of direct morning sunlight everyday for the majority of the year
