I’ve got something similar where my electrician trenched in a 220 line out to my garage and the soil is still selling back in. I just keep top dressing with a sand/compost mix.
I’m in Western New York so my soil type may be different from yours.

I have similar sized ones in my yard from chipmunks. Shove some rocks down there and try to cover them back up. Most of the time they’ll just dig it back out or another one right beside it but i’ve had success in filling in a few.
