Why does the soil in my plants look so dry and chunky?
Even after I water. New plants, haven’t changed the soil or anything. It just doesn’t look right to me? Take it easy on me I’m new 💚 gets medium in direct light !
Do you bottom water? If you submerge the whole pot in distilled water for maybe an hour and then let it drain, that has helped me in the past. Or change the soil?

It looks like the soil might have a lot of peat in it. I find that it tends to clump up like this. You can use a fork or your fingers to break it up. Flush it with RO or distilled water every few waterings to prevent salt buildup.
