I got this plant 3 weeks ago & have been watering it once a week. It is placed near a window in my living room which is the room that gets the most sun.
Is there anything I can do to save it? I am fairly new to keeping indoor plants but so far things have been going well… until I saw this 🙁
If it isn’t salvageable any tips to prevent this from happening in my other plants? Any advice is much appreciated 🙏

Wait until the pot feels light and then water it thoroughly in the sink. Don’t use a schedule.
You may want to take it out of the pot and check the roots. Make sure only the roots and base of the stems are buried and not the petioles (the part of the leaf that attaches to the stem).
Welcome to plant parenthood! This plantis not dead and is doing okay. Remove the dead and yellowing leaves. Only bottom water the plant, meaning only add water from the bottom you can add a few drops on top as a ell. This plant can also grow in eater if you wanted to transition it. This is a pothos family plant they are very resilient and like some sun and part shade. They can live in low light so direct sunlight isn’t always the best. Leaves on pothos die thats okay its apart of its growth process. You can also repot it, with fresh dirt in a slightly larger pot but its not necessary. You can also replace the top layer of dirt to give the plant and dirt fresher nutrients. But don’t worry its not dead at all. Pothos are amazing! Hope this helps! Goodluck!
It’s rotting. The black stuff is rot and it will spread. Take it out of the pot and reasses the situation then.
I’d check for thrips. Get some predatory mites to treat and prevent
I have one in soil that doesn’t progress, lack of light and one in water that is near my grow lights.
Root rot. I would take them out and water propagate them. Get rid of the ones that are dying. I’ve had success saving some of my pothos plants this way . 🤗
Too much water. Remove all rot, hydrogen peroxide roots, and regrow the plant with more perlite in the soil. You can also propagate the good growth in water
