Don’t do anything until there are at least 3 couches on your lawn. Then we can talk.

Step one, clean, nothing lying against the fence, nothing to interfere with edging

Clean out the every bit of unnecessary stuff. Once you do that you can treat the issues and also start to make the yard look like it was created with intent.

Clean it up. Weed and feed. Water appropriately. Don’t cut more than 1/3 and never cut in the heat of the day. Wait a year to see where you are at

Clean it up and water it. Possibly get rid of grubs.

I personally like the natural look of the couch and plywood

Reupholster the couch and spray paint the grill

Interesting fence within a fence on the top right corner

  9. Your fence might reflect sun and burn the grass. You might want to plant something along the fence line to soften the magnifying sun effect.

Get everything off the lawn. Furniture should be on the patio.

The intent being to recover the grass, once it’s in great shape I would move the decorative table back.

This makes treating it and caring for it easier.

I would recommend coming up with a basic vision and then asking some specific questions that are related to plant/grass growth, my dude.

I mean, do you *want* grass? Do you want to zeroscape and have more of a pollinator garden going on? Crops? etc? This sub has more of a “technical help/troubleshooting” vibe than it is an ideation/thinktank sort of thing, but if anyone wants to have that convo they are more than welcome.

First, get rid of all the crap including the white gravel steps. Then design it on a piece of paper. Rough sketch is all you need. Add some mulch beds with a plan for what you will eventually plant. Don’t worry about planting them yet, you can spread it over a few years. But have a space for them now. Cut in the beds, don’t add an artificial edging, just keep the edge clean with a trimmer or shovel. Power wash the wood and the concrete or remove it. Then clean up the lawn. Rake it. Spend some time and hand pull the weeds. You can probably do it in a day. Now you can throw down some seed. Water lightly twice a day until it grows then water it appropriately. Get a couple of lawn chairs, put on some jorts, grab a box of wine and your boom box. Enjoy.

This looks like a birds-eye-view of a pinball machine.

Plant a tree. Actually multiple trees bc a couple may not make it

  15. Is there a don’t be mean rule in this sub? Because it’ll be hard not to break it here.

    What happened in these comments

EDIT: reddit bug, everything said deleted. I refreshed and they’re back

Garbage removal, roll and seed lawn. Small deck over concrete patio, tables chairs BBQ on Pato, add gardens

Clean out all the surface crap, rake out those bare spots, add some grass seed, throw some top soil/dressing down. Water, water, water. Maybe replace those pavers with something bigger to make a path and even brick a little patio to put the table on if you want that. Then add 3 more couches wherever you like

Lmao nothing will fix that yard. You clearly have your give up on life pants on with the couch

  20. ScythingSantos

Clean out everything from the yard including anything in the grass then aerate by either coring or just stab it a bunch with anything then seed it and sand it then leave it till it grows enough to cut

Clean out everything from the yard including anything in the grass then aerate by either coring or just stab it a bunch with anything then seed it and sand it then leave it till it grows enough to cut watering as much as 3 times a day if it’s really dry in your area
