Hellebores!!! Very nice Wintery/early Spring flower, they have such a lovely range of flower colours as well

  2. This plant is poisonous, it was once used to poison the water supply during a siege during the first sacred war in ancient Greece.

That’s a great color. Mine are a “boring” pink

Here in the Northwest of England they are commonly known as Christmas Rose.

I find it fascinating the way plants behave differently, depending on what part of the world they grow.

It’s a beautiful, mysterious-looking hellebore. I have never seen one that color. Ours are lighter pinkish-purple. They spread like crazy. Hate super-hot weather.

  7. Helleborus orientalis, a deservedly popular species of hellebore. There are other cool hellebore species too.
