Funny story, I put my 45 tomato seedlings in the sunnies spot, the driveway. I then forgot about them and proceeded to run over them at 20 mph. Have fun with that one internet.

Other pictures are from my first batch and the survivors recoloring the grow tent. First batch got too purple to early, onky the grow lights remains as the potential putple problem. Leason learnt I think: 16 hours is to much light. Could use advice:
1. How can I revive the first batch there?
2. Should I plant them now or repot now, in lower north ga 8a.
3. Advice on tent settings plzzz.
4. Laugh and be merry at my expense

Glad you can laugh at it! I think they will be fine. If you are in zone 8A, you might be able to plant them out now. But I guess there’s still a frost risk. Maybe plant half and keep the other half in for a few more weeks, just in case?

Honestly? Tomatoes are hardy 😂 they actually look fine, when you harden them off and then bury them outside, remove all the lower leaves and only do like idk, the top 6 at most and bury her deep with a good heap of some myco and fertilizer to get em going and I bet you’ll be swimming in tomatoes despite running them over 😂

Dude, if you can swing it, just get them in the ground ASAP before you accidentally take a flame thrower to them or something. At this rate, I wouldn’t be completely surprised if that’s how they finally meet their demise. /s

Seriously though, if the weather is warm enough and you’re beyond the last freeze, get them in the ground and cover with shade cloth for the first week or so. Better yet, have a friend or neighbor do it. I’m nervous of you even being around them.

Containers are pretty small, they’ll likely bounce back if you get them in the ground or bigger pots

  5. Just put them In The ground or a big pot they are fine and ready to go

Get ’em in the ground or outside in 5-gallon planters (*cloth, plastic, bucket, as long as it has drainage holes it’ll work*). They’ll grow.

Now I don’t feel so bad about hitting my thigh on everything in my house. Thank you for that. 😄

Lmao who goes 20 in their driveway? Must be one of those sick half circle driveways.

What soil did you use? I’m new so trying to see what people usually use for veggies and herbs

16 hours is not too much light. I start my tomatoes indoor in my grow tent with my pot plants every year and they absolutely love lots of light. You
Probably have the light too close if you are having problems

Chin up. Keep growing. How do you use your crops?

    Tomatoes are very hardy.
Just keep from baking them…or introducing too much moisture where mold sets in.
I think you should be fine.

I could totally save these but damn I don’t know if you have the experience to do it. At your point just stick them in a mostly shaded area. Place them in a planting tray with no holes and leave them filled 1/3 of the way with water and just plant them out after your last frost.

When you do plant them just bury them deeper.

What the heck zone are you in because I just started my seeds today.

They are totally fine. Bury them deep and carry on. You can straight up decapitate a seedling that size, bury it, and it will grow. You babied them long enough and made them strong, gave them some inadvertent tough love, now they just need to get in the ground.

So way less funny but I’m a vet tech and you wouldn’t believe the amount of people who accidentally run their sunbathing dogs over when pulling into their driveways. So uh… could be worse? 🫣

  19. Last year I had my driveway lined with 2 gallon peppers that I just potted up and proceeded to run over about eight of them when I habitually drove off the next morning.

I solved purple looking tomato plants with lime sprinkled at the base and epsom salts in water drenched on the leafs.
