I would just pop the very bottom of it into some succulent soil tbh

I have one like this too. Not sure what it is exactly but I just put it in dirt and it’s been going crazy. I think dog tail, because not as thick as a dragon fruit. Everyone told me it was dragon fruit but I’m not convinced.

I think it’s dog tail cactus. Let the end harden over for a day and then stick in a well draining soil.
