Greenhouse spring clean ready for the growing season ahead. Fresh bags of compost and manure will give the vegtables a healthy start. Tree cutting and lawnmowing help to maintain the overall health of the garden. Plans for the food forest are also discussed, and a tree to be planted for a new Patreon. #garden #trees #greenhouse #vegetables #spring-cleaning,

Here on my channel, I am renovating a 250 year old stone cottage on my property in Normandy, France. By using traditional, low-waste and off-grid methods, I’m aiming to keep the charm and character of this old building, and turn it into a furnished, finished home for family whilst keeping environmental impact as low as possible. There will also be content on living in France, visiting beautiful rural places, hunting for antiques, gardening, and more! Hit subscribe if you would like to keep up with my journey, and hit the notification bell to be alerted when we go LIVE where we have a first viewing of the video as it is published with a live chat so I can answer all your questions! See you in Sean’s World.

It's so easy to forget that the rest of the world is not covered in snow. We got more last night–March 9, eastern Ontario (Canada). It looks beautiful and won't last, but I am more than ready for crocus, daffodil and tulip bulbs to show their pretty little green shoots.
You have given me a mental lift and, a good start on my list of things to do before and after the ground thaws. Cheers.
Mayenne ( not Mayen) , is in the Maine et Loire department of France. Sean will know where it is.
My dad always used carbolic soap to spring clean his greenhouse and jays fluid outside around the base In his words “It’ll keep all t’bugs out”
Do you not need to remove all of the tree stump
Have you thought about using pear wood to carving wooden kitchen utensils to sell.

Handy scraping tool for the ivy. Multi-purpose.
Beer traps for the slug problems
Powdered chalk around your plants also helps with snails and slugs.
So nice to see the ivy gone😅
I love to hear you and Tom chatting during the video !
Slugs don't like crossing copper ! 💥 I put copper pipes round my veggie beds.
Hi,Sean. I agree with some of the other comments. Beer, salt or diatomaceous earth for slugs and snails.
I do not recommend using wood chips in your garden. As the wood rots down it depletes the nutrients in the soil so your veggies/ flowers will suffer. Wood chips/ sawdust will also make your potatoes scabby. They will still be edible, but ugly. Compost, grass clippings, fall leaves, chopped straw and veggie scraps from the table are much better in your garden patch.
Having run a firewood business for years; we used to cut to specific lengths ( furnace wood, stove wood and random chunks) and then rank the wood up off of the ground. The sun and wind will dry the wood faster and it will be cleaner ( less dirt and crud on the wood).
Bonus; it also provides a safe place for birds, mice, bats and snakes to hide in over the summer( and through the winter if you don't burn it all in one season).
Beer and crushed egg shells seems to work for me Sean, but I suppose it depends on how many you are dealing with. I don't have much of a problem with snails, it's the demon slugs that are a menace, so destructive. Love the 'barn door ' on the greenhouse, great for ventilation and that muck sounds a good price at 2 Eu a bag !
Diatomaceous Earth works really well for slugs.
As a Native American Indian it is called corn beans and squash 💜💜
Butter and garlic yummy
Are you going to get rid of the downed tree or tour the weedy garden?
Did you tell us if you have a wood chipper?
I keep meaning to ask what you’ve done to fix the tractor. We had one similar…it is usually carburetor issues. That’s an easy and cheap fix. Might be worth a video! Does it have compression? Spark? Is the drive shaft bent?
Beer is very good..
Sean, I heard that diluted Dawn dishwashing soap helps rid the garden of Slugs and Snails. I am not sure if Dawn dishwashing detergent is available in your area. Maybe any detergent will do the job.

Hi I have seen elsewhere plus tried myself, moving brassicas from the garden in to the greenhouse, in early winter before the very prolonged cold comes (in buckets, pots or better still into your raised beds). I was thinking it might help your cabbages. As a late experiment it could be worth moving a couple in to see if it helps, before you need your beds and space for the warm loving crops. Best wishes for your coming growing season and the renovation.
Beer works for snails and slugs. Plant a margarine container with a lid under soil small hole at the surface to give the snails access to the beer. They fall in and get drunk and die.
If you have a small pond by the greenhouse, even an old sink, the amphibians will eventually mean you don’t need to do anything and it brings more wildlife into your garden
Ashes from your fires might help against snails and slug 🤞👍🌟🍀💐
Hello Sean! Nothing like a good Spring Clean to get things going! We are experiencing Summer-like temperatures here (in Texas) and the birds are starting to nest in our yard and trees🐦. Ordered a mug and t-shirt from your online merch store, looking forward to enjoying a cuppa in the lovely new mug! 🫖 Always a pleasure to see your son Thomas in your videos whether it is a game of frisbee, helping you with gardening and yard work or traveling with you! Take care and enjoy the lovely weather and your NEW lawnmower! Cheers! 😸
The Greenhouse looks great! A bit of health and safety advice for gardeners who work with manure, be sure to wear gardening gloves and keep up to date on your tetanus vaccine.
Willows are rare in RI,usa, so we want them!
Beer traps for the slugs and snails, let them drown in happiness. I also had ducks for awhile, they are amazing at keeping snails and slug populations down.
Discs of sand paper around plants is a good one.
Beer does the job Sean and the little buggers die happy 😃
Good job
