My philodendron mayoi newest leaf not turning green even after hardening. Has streaks of yellow. I feed it plenty and has a 60w grow light. What could be the issue?

Looks like a bit of interveinal clorosis, perhaps an iron deficiency? If your tap water is fairly alkaline (which is usually the case), then a whole host of minerals will have reduced solubility

I don’t usually recommend worrying about PH values with aroids because they can tolerate a decent range of acidity/alkalinity before they show negative symptoms. But this may be a water nutrient issue. You can test your ph with a very cheap ph tester by sticking it into freshly watered soil and leaving it for a few hours so it gets a proper reading, depending on the number you get back, add charcoal as a top dressing to water in for lowering ph or maybe some lime juice or other acidic based ingredient.

Hmm, might be too early to tell. Others have said nutrient deficiency and I’m inclined to believe that it is a possibility. You’re definitely juicing it with those 60w lights for sure! When you say “feed” are you saying nutrients, fertilizer, or only water?

I’ve had this issue on a couple of different philos, and I’m notorious for going too hard with the grow lights. I’m starting to cut back on the light and my pale streaks are resolving.
