So i dont know if its because of the fresh soil i put, but is it normal for the soil to still be cold and kinda still wet at the top even one week after watering? I bought a soil for tropical plants like monstera and i have good drainage holes. I repotted the plant because i felt like the old soil was drying up too quick after i watered it and the plant always looked sad. Now it looks a lottt better but im still asking because im scared of it being wet for too long .

i think the soil is too dense which is why it’s still wet at the top after a week. adding things into your soil such as perlite & orchid bark will add air pockets & let the soil dry out faster.
