In the Alzheimer garden at the nursing home, our Brazilian guava tree (Psidium cattleyanum) has NEVER produced fruit… and it’s all our fault! 😆 Why? Because the flowers are so incredibly sweet and delicious that we eat them every single year before they can turn into fruit! 🍃🌸
🌱 What Makes Brazilian Guava Flowers So Special?
✔️ Edible & Sweet – Like a floral candy, with a hint of tropical fruit flavor! 🍬🌿
✔️ Fragrant & Aromatic – A treat for both the senses and the taste buds! 😍
✔️ Attracts Pollinators – Bees and butterflies love them too! 🐝🦋
✔️ Grows Well in Temperate Climates – Frost hardy down to 15°F (-9°C) ❄️
💡 Our residents love picking and tasting these unique edible flowers—it’s become a garden tradition! But one day… maybe… we’ll resist long enough to let some fruit develop! 😆

Let’s Turn the Planet into a Vegetable Garden! 💚
Gardens4Good, a non-profit, began on the rooftop of a nursing home in Paris, France, where our founder volunteered to help elderly residents with Alzheimer’s start their own vegetable garden. The garden brought them food, healing and joy, inspiring visitors who asked how they, too, could grow their own food. That’s how we embarked on a global mission to share gardening tutorials, empowering people everywhere to turn spaces—big or small—into thriving vegetable gardens. Join us in transforming our world into a happy, abundant, sustainable food garden for all!
