  1. We are in Florida left tn in Jan we will be home end of March . July we bought a new home can't wait to get my landscaping done , I know the plants I'm putting in . I have been warching you both for years and learning how to plant. ❤

  2. I love the video, as usual. I’m always excited to see how your garden develops and you guys always come up with great ideas. The Persephone garden will be no exception in the future. BUT the part where Laura was clipping the roses made me start cracking up. The ASMR was so satisfying. That editing was definitely intentional and hilarious. Thank you for that this morning, Taylor 😂

  3. I feel for you. Brought a tear to my eye. But………the property is so much more majestic looking without the barrier. Will love to see what you are inspired to do with it.

  4. I think your space is opening up to match the scale of your property. You'll cozy it up with your magic touch.

  5. I like the openness without the fence and I think that the fountain there would be lovely. Next time you have some large trees delivered you could have them use there "tree digger thing" to move the 4 large boxwoods.

  6. Fence does not make sense with larger property. It was very tricky tacky, did not reflect your vision and personality.

  7. The Persephone garden looks like a semi-circle formal driveway. Now that the fence is gone, could you make that a formal entrance? I don't know where that door leads to so not sure if it would work. It seems like a great opportunity to really dress it up for formal occasions. I love the idea of the fountain in the middle.

  8. The area without the fence looks so much better! Also, kudos to the sound effects of the first rose being pruned. 😂

  9. I think the fence up or down is personal and no matter you and Aaron will continue to make it beautiful…more beautiful!
Love your cat patrol…they really are like little guardian angels watching over all of you. ❤

  10. I was just about to say that these fence posts are coming out easier than ones pulled earlier, then one busted. Oops. Thought too soon.

  11. If you're interested, you can survey and map your infrastructure so you're not always destroying existing work. You can track those assets in this way and avoid re-doing work and save money.

  12. Laura, what is your opinion on cleaning beds, leaf piles, etc. that may be homes for bees and other pollinators early in the spring? I have heard that you need to wait until the temperatures are consistently over 50 degrees.

  13. I am excited to see how you will redesign the space. It is hard to visualize anything other than what exists. This space will be have your personal stamp.

  14. Since you don’t like covering your statues and fountains during winter because you like the winter interest, would sealing your concrete help prevent crumbling like you saw in the Persephone and goat bases?

  15. Everything you said at the end…YES! This garden has irked me since day 1 with its lack of symmetry and gravel drive to nowhere. I’m so excited!

  16. My zone isn’t quite ready for this cleanup; watching your video is helping me not get too far ahead of the weather, and my itchy fingers to get out and clean it up😂

  17. I actually like it with the fence down! My money is on the the persephone brick garden area being gone by the end of the season!

  18. Laura and Aaron, as much of a shock it is to see the fence gone, it gives you a clean slate, and a chance to put your magical touch on that area. I think once the trees are in place, it'll make more sense to you. You always wanted that area more balanced, now you can really plan and begin your vision. Bless Aaron's heart for offering to get the fence guy right out for you! Love seeing the kiddos running around near you, my gosh, Benjamin is getting so tall!! He tries to be such a helper and wants to be involved. Such good kids you have!!

  19. I have tried several times to grow Lamium. Our hot humid summers (zone 8, coastal NC) are just too brutal for it, apparently.

  20. I am all for the Persephone garden going. It's the odd man out. I. Think that would be a good idea. I'm like you not sure about the fence being gone. Whatever you do there will be great. Is there anything you can do to to prevent the concrete to crumble.

  21. Missed the fence right away. Somethings should not be rushed to bare. Losing structure and charm. Aaron please take it easy with take out projects. Paul looked disapointed also.

  22. Love the perennial cutback and transplanting! Do you have advice on the same for Lamb's Ear. It is so messy this time of year, but I love it in the garden! 💚

  23. Don't take out the beautiful brickwork and plants. When you stand looking towards your house you see that then your fountain area with the box woods and then the house. I think you could make that such a beautiful area.

  24. I also prefer it without the fence! Also because of where the driveway curves at the entrance it seems to make more sense without the fence! But i totally understand the feeling of when you are used to see it one way it can loon strange in the beginning until you get used to it!

  25. Wait, am i understanding this right? Even if you are still going to get a hard freeze, you can be planting new perennials if your ground is workable? I am planning out a couple of new beds this year and always thought I had to wait to plant until after the threat of frost passed.

  26. “A little shocking,”like when our beautiful backyard non-bearing Cheery tree got sick and cut down😢 I get it!

  27. Where do I start. Love the fence gone it opens the beauty of the balcony and front of the house. Yes yes move the fountain it would look great there. Great clean up and moving the Lamium and loved seeing Samantha behind you on her kneeing pad working. So cute. Great job on the fence Aron and Paul and the holes being done. Lots of planting to be done. I do like the openness of the front. It makes it so glamorous looking.
    PS: and it begins 😂😂😂.
Thanks again for sharing this with us. Appreciated.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

  28. As much as I like the Persephone garden, whatever you decide to do with it will be beautiful and I am convinced you will love it. It's ok to grieve a little for what was. Then move forward into the joy of what will be! My ancient weeping cherry is coming down this spring. 40 years of beauty and removing it is tearing at my heart. You give me the courage to pull the trigger. I was also curious how long do concrete pieces last? How old are the pieces that are showing wear? Is there something other than covering with canvas one can do to prolong their life? Love to watch the family work together, including Russel and Douglas.

  29. LOVE the space without the fence! It looks more like a GRAND formal entryway! Love seeing the house! You two are amazing! Excited to see this space come along!
