I love my air plants and have no trouble keeping them alive. The problem is I can’t keep them happy. Every single one of them has brown tips or entire brown leaves. I don’t know how to identify them even using an app. I read somewhere that the celery ones and the more green ones need totally different climates, but I can’t even tell which ones which in that respect. All of them seem to have some silver And some green in my eyes.

The one with more white fuzzy fur are the one from dry climate, the one with more greenish are from tropical climate. Brown tip is when the plants aren’t getting enough water, dry brown base is common as old leaves will die out slowly when they grow bigger.

Actually, from dry climate or tropical climate has nothing to do with how frequently they should get water, I personally own 5 ionanthan, these are the only tillandsia I have, and people said ionanthan are from dry climate, they very drought tolerant and shouldn’t water them too frequently, they even say I shouldn’t water tillandsia at night because is very bad for them… well, 1 of them fully soaked every 2 days for 30 minutes, while 3 of them fully soak every 3 days for 2 hours soak, and another one fully soak evety 6 days for 2 hours, time was x2 long for soaking in bromeliad fertilizer once a month, and I’m living in tropical climate and I have no issue keeping them rot-free, and they all are happy and healthy… they all have white fuzzy open wide leaves.

So I can proof they are bullshit about I shouldn’t soak them at night and shouldn’t soak them too frequently.

It would be helpful to know your care routine and what kind of climate you live in.
