Hey, quick tip. Put live things in there from the get go. Like actual dirt from a pond, live aquatic plants, perhaps a small piece of driftwood. Even some dirty filter water or gravel from an established aquarium and one plant will be enough to get you somewhat started 🙂
This looks like dead substrate and clean water – not great growing grounds for microorganisms – particularly not indoors and closed off like that.
