Hello! I was gifted a Christmas amaryllis bulb over the holidays and it bloomed beautifully! This photo was taken before all of the blooms popped, and now it’s at the point that some flowers are starting to wither. What do I do next to keep this plant blooming year after year?

After the flowers have faded it will grow leaves. They will feed the bulb with energy all summer. Normally they die on their own in autumn, but as a houseplant you’ll need to stop watering and move the pot away from the window for the leaves to die. When they’re gone, put the pot is a cupboard or similar for 2-3 months. When spring comes, take out the pot, put it in a sunny spot and water, the bulb will shoot out new leaves or a flower. They don’t always flower every year, I have one that flowers every other time I wake it up

The whole cycle should take a year, adjust the time you stop watering and how long it’s dormant to time the flower. It flowers about a month after waking up

The more healthy green leaves you can grow the better the chances of good rebloom. I put mine in big pots outdoors for the summer. Repot them in Fall but leave dry for 7-8 weeks.
