Join me as I sow milkweed seeds around the pond to support pollinators and chat about what’s been happening in the garden this January. I’ll share some reflections over a warm cup of tea, from winter projects to early seed starts, and my plans for February as we inch closer to spring. Let’s catch up!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing. I follow you since I'm close to your location a little further North in Newburgh, NY. You have a lot more experience than I do so your knowledge goes a long way…Thanks again, Steve G. PS I have a greenhouse (my first ever installed in September last year). Its small 8x7x8 but it goes a long way! I have been growing in it since then and have harvested winter crops and have 2 GreenStalks planted in there as well that are doing well. Just started seeds indoors and transfer to the greenhouse when they are large enough. (yes I keep it heated to 56 degrees which help tremendously.

  2. Monarch populations are not in decline – there are lower counts down there after they migrate down, but population numbers stabilize as they repopulate during the summers
