Gave this plant a soak a few weeks ago since the humidity level decreased dramatically (whole house humidifier brokedown) and it started to look affected. It was turned upside down to dry after soaking.
It looked amazing for a week, nice and green and hydrated, but then yellowing tips started. I thought maybe the cold got to it; the weather here had average temps around 15°F everyday for a week. I figured the plant's spot next to a window was way too cold so I moved it farther away from the draft.
These last few days I notice some browning started, and today I'm reading conflicting things on what yellowish/brown tips mean. Some sources say yellow is dehydration. Some say avoid water as this yellow/brownish color is rot. So which is it??
I do know that mushy = rot. The middle stem is mushy. So is it starting to rot? Which btw I don't understand since I let it dry upside down.
What can I do for it now?
This is my very last one after starting with eight plants four years ago. I suck at this but don't want to give up just yet.

How often do you normally water it?
The cold got it.
Hi. In my personal opinion you have overwatered-sign of stress. Please, do not soak. Trust me. 🙂 if the middle of leaves comes off easily… That’s means game over. Unfortunately. If not.. You still have a chance.
15 deegress Celsius still ok (tillandsia minimum temp roughly 13-15) so you should mist biweekly or something like that. Metabolism slower. This is what I know.
Don’t give up. Take care
